POSITION REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES

All commitments are 6 month terms

We do not waive cleantime (if an exception is sought then they need to attend the groups business meeting for a vote there)

Secretary (Host):  Read the meeting format.  Select the speaker/reading. Call on people who are raising their hands,help with unmuting, and chat functionality. Must have understanding of Narcotics Anonymous Traditions, have access to computer/laptop note: a cell-phone or i-pad is not sufficient. Clean time requirement: 6 months.  

Co-Host:  Assist secretary with looking for people who are raising their hands, unmuting, and chat functionality.  Paste the link for the 7th tradition in chat for everyone and the link and password for the proof of attendance. Must have access to computer/laptop note: a cell-phone or i-pad is not sufficient.  Clean time requirement: 3 months.  

Literature Person:  Give announcement during meeting.  Select a piece of literature and maybe 1 sentence to give people a flavor of what is in the NA literature.   0 clean time

Greeter: Join meeting 15 min before and get people to commit to reading.  This is a greeter type position with the goal of making people feel welcomed but also asking people to read during the meetings.  Create a list of readers for the following and provide to the secretary and co-host to use during the meeting.  0 cleantime

Business Meeting Positions: 

Business Meeting Secretary

  • Facilitate Business Meetings
  • Take Notes during meeting sharing screen when doing so. 
  • Post business meeting notes on the website
  • Maintain trusted servant contact list
  •  2 year clean time position
  • 1 year commitment 

Group Service Representative (GSR)

  • Attend the Sonoma County Area Service Committee (ASC) (in person located in Santa Rosa, CA at 6pm the 3rd Thursday of the month)
  • Carry the Sonoma Online NA group conscience to Sonoma County ASC
  • Take Notes at ASC and bring the notes back to the Sonoma Online NA group business meeting & email then to group. 
  • 2 years clean
  • 1 year commitment

Alternate Group Service Representative (GSR)

  • Attend the Sonoma County Area Service Committee (ASC) (in person located in Santa Rosa, CA at 6pm the 3rd Thursday of the month)
  • Carry the Sonoma Online NA group conscience to Sonoma County ASC when the GSR is unable to attend
  • Take Notes at ASC and bring the notes back to the Sonoma Online NA group business meeting & email then to group. 
  • Willingness to become the GSR
  • 1 years clean
  • 1 year commitment

Treasurer

  • Responsible for managing the group's income & expenses.
  • Provide group a report of accounting monthly.
  • Maintain the group's centralized email address.
  • Maintain the group's Zoom Account.
  • Maintain the group's Venmo account, PayPal, and Bank Account
  • 2 years clean
  • 2 year commitment

Trainer Position

  • Clean-time 2 years
  • 1 year committment  
  • Knowledge of Traditions & Sonoma Online group conscience for host and co-host duties.
  • Contact new hosts and co-hosts to train for newly rotated positions
  • Training includes zoom settings and group's process for managing waitlist, chat, screen-share.
  • When possible attend meetings while they settle into the positions and get comfortable
  • Answer any questions or concerns that come up

Trusted Servant Removal Process: 

No following guidelines: Our group will notify the member of the issue, ask that they follow the group's guidelines for thier position, and if they do not start following the guidelines then we will bring it up at the next business meeting for removal from the position by a 2/3 majority vote.

Absences: If trusted servant has two consecutive unexcused absences (no show, no call) we will make an effort to reach out to the trusted servant to inform them we will be putting the position up for another person to fulfill it and remind them that we want them to come back to the meeting, but need our commitments filled.
